Local Recipes

Welsh traditional recipes have been passed down in families through the generations, adapted and amended to suit more modern tastes and availability of ingredients, and many are now widely known through internet research and TV chefs. Welsh recipes reflect when times were hard, but also the availability of local produce, like sweet Welsh lamb, seasonal vegetables, creamy Welsh butter and even clear, fresh spring water!

Although many of these local foods can be bought on the high street, we have included a few local recipes to tantalise your taste buds and take you back to the lush valleys and dramatic coastline that are the essence of North Wales.
